Injury to the shock absorbing tissue of the knee called the mensicus
Ligament injuries
Most commonly the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) or the medial collateral ligament (MCL)
Patellar instability
Often caused by early wear and tear of the cartilage of the knee cap
